Tulawaka

Tulawaka is located about 100 kilometres west of Bulyanhulu Gold Mine.

Owners: Northern Mining and Exploration, Tan Range Exploration Corporation

The Tulawaka Project covers an area of 390.71 km2, and includes 14 individual Prospecting Licenses. Three of the licenses is held by Tan Range, whilst the remaining 11 licenses are under JV with NME(Northern Mining and Exploration)

A mixed assemblage of granite and greenstone mostly underlies the project area, with a single license being underlain predominantly with granite. NE trending dolerite dykes are common throughout the project area.

The structural setting is dominated by a series of shear structures, know locally as the Muhama Dislocation. These can be traced from Golden Pride Mine (Nzega Greenstone Belt), through the Miyabi region and through Tulawaka. Gold occurrences are associated with this trend, especially where they intersect a secondary structure (predominantly N-S).

Portions of the project area held by Tan Range have been evaluated by RAB drilling conducted by Pangea, which, despite relatively low drill intersects (<1.0g/t Au), remains under evaluation.

Northern Mining and Exploration: Tulawaka mine produces 124,743 ounces of gold in 2005. Click here for more information.
